Alterations and Additions at our Canada Bay residence called for opening and enlarging the rear of the house to transform it into a modern home for living and entertaining. The long entrance hallway opens up to one large space which incorporates the living, kitchen and dining areas, customised to the needs of the young family. The kitchen features an open galley-style kitchen with generous bench widths and a casual seating space, while the living space features two oversized sliding doors which create a variety of different outdoor living spaces. The combination of frosted and transparent louvres on the sliding door control the amount of heat and light entering the house while providing privacy and ventilation. A productive garden covers the wall of the external court yard and provides a direct visual link to the kitchen that enriches the experience of food preparation. Horizontal timber battens lining the boundary minimise overlooking into the courtyard and outdoor living areas. The motif of recycled brick running through the new addition resonates with the existing conditions of the house and provides a visual link between old and new.

“With a growing family and the need for more space, we looked into several architects and decided to engage CplusC to design and build a rear extension to our existing house. They understood our brief and budget and we are absolutely blown away with the end result. The design is beyond what we had imagined and the quality of the build is outstanding.

We can honestly say that our experience with CplusC from the initial consultation right through to handover has been a pleasure. Clinton Cole and his team are consummate professionals who are not only easy to work with but trustworthy and honest – qualities which made this process virtually headache free for us. The level of communication is excellent and time was always made for us if there were any questions. We should add that one of the main reasons we went with CplusC is because they are architects AND builders. We didn’t have to worry about any of the problems that usually come with the separate engagement of architect and builder.

Thanks you CplusC for our beautiful home!”
