Cabins of CplusC

CplusC have had two projects recently published in an international architectural publication by one of the most renowned publishers in the world, Philip Jodidio – TASCHEN.

“The cabins selected for this publication emphasize the variety of the genre, both in terms of usage and geography. From an artist studio on the Suffolk coast in England to eco-home huts in the Western Ghats region of India, this survey is as exciting in its international reach as it is in its array of briefs, clients, and situations. Constant throughout, however, is architectural innovation, and an inspiring sense of contemplation and coexistence as people return to nature and to a less destructive model of being in the world.”

Cabins present special opportunities for creative thinking like no other form of architecture due to their contextual isolation and assimilation with nature. They prompt environmentally sustainable ideology and eco-friendly solutions within their rustic setting that would not be found in urban locale.  The Bowen Mountain Residence and St Albans Residence have both been featured in this beautifully published book which includes illustrations, photographs and animated floor plans of selected cabins from all around the world. It is interesting to see the different architectural outcomes that arise from different natural settings including climatic and topographic differentiation.
